Traces are subtle details that testify to the identity of an architectural space. Throughout\ntime, they describe visible elements such as structure, material, and composition, but they\nalso communicate immaterial elements such as history, memories, and atmosphere.<\/p>

The traces are floating in time and space; they become visible in the present, revealing\nthemselves in their mutability. This also occurs through a third dimension created by light\nand shadows, which influence their usability to the senses and the human eye.
Photographic investigation allows us to detect traces on architecture by stopping the flow of\nmutability in the shots, in the same way life drawing becomes a tool for processing form-\nspace in relation to light.\nThus, the past and present become visible in architectural ruins, and the photographs and\ndrawings of the traces allow us to open up reflections and questions that are rooted in a\ndeep exploration of sociological, political, and economic issues.
The traces will be examined photographically and graphically to activate a reflection process\nof dynamic investigation and relationship to space. Furthermore, in the conscious and\naffective observation of space, the basis for the design and regeneration of places in respect\nof history, memory, and architectural styles are laid.
During the seminar, all aspects of photographic research and life drawing in the field will be\naddressed through excursions such as: (Aachen, Cologne, and an independent excursion\nto a contemporary architectural site to be defined).
The seminar will also cover both topics of photographic image theory in relation to\narchitecture and landscape, as well as purely technical photography issues.
Topics of architectural history in relation to the locations identified for the excursion and basic\nelements of life drawing of architecture, landscape, and perspective will be addressed.
The aim of the workshop is an iconographic project that will be realized with the students'\nphotographic and drawing work and presented in the form of an exhibition and publication\nin an issue of the architecture magazine \"Traces\" entitled \"Traces - Shadows.\"<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
